Maitri's 26th birthday fundraiser
Hello there!
Many of you asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I have always wanted to do something for those in need and now, I see an effective way of doing this!
I would like to bring your attention to donating using Giving What We Can.
Below is a calculator that gave me a perspective on where I currently stand financially compared to every other person in the world. This got me thinking about giving in a whole new way.
My top three cause areas are:
1. Animal welfare
2. Helping the poor globally
3. Fighting climate change
Donating towards ending factory farming positively impacts all three areas. The most obvious one is animal welfare, since ending factory farming would help to reduce the suffering of innocent beings, capable of feeling pain and emotions just like you and me. However, animal agriculture is also a significant contributor to the climate crisis which in turn disproportionately affects the poorest people in the world. Feel free to have a chat with me and I'll be happy to share my learnings with you.
