1. Helen Keller International’s Vitamin A Supplementation Program (60%) - Just ~$1 provides vitamin A supplements to a child for one year, reducing child mortality by ~4-12%.
2. GiveDirectly (20%) - Randomised control trials (RCTs) have consistently shown that unconditional cash transfers are incredibly effective at alleviating poverty. GiveDirectly is one of the charities most dedicated to rigorous evaluation of its programmes. We're especially proud that CMU-Africa has collaborated with GiveDirectly on program delivery technology.
3. The Humane League (20%) - 94% of all animals raised for food are on factory farms. This means that 130 billion farmed land animals suffer every day. 202 million chickens are slaughtered every day (that's 140,000 every minute), and they often suffer in unimaginable ways. Through its corporate campaigns, the Humane League (THL) works to end the abuse of chickens raised for food.

Each cause is quite different, but they have one thing in common: they are chosen so as to do as much good as possible with the money, on the basis of strong evidence collected by Giving What We Can and other independent evaluators. No wishful thinking or administrative inefficiencies here; only real and evidenced impact.
