Six months ago, I learned that the best charities can be 100 times (!) as effective as your average charity. This immediately caused an avalanche of very hard questions to wash over me. Mind-blowing questions about doing good, and doing it better.
Three months later, seeking both answers and action in my life, I started running, aiming for ultra distances.
Both exercises are profoundly changing my perspectives on life. And now I want to share these mental and physical hardships with you. In a positive and impactful way.
ON MY BLOG I will explore how we can align our hearts (empathy) with our brains (data) to dramatically increase the well-being of present and future generations.
For example, meet Tadala and Mavuto (photo). These kids from Malawi will grow up and live happy lives because of us. I keep the photo on my fridge to remind myself and my family why I choose to give a part of my income to the world's poorest.
Only problem: They don't exist, I created them with AI. I had to do that, because effective giving is faceless by definition. But hey - if that lie is the glue that help my heart and brain stick together to save more lives... so be it!
ON THE ROAD I will exercise the ultimate luxury, voluntarily exploring my physical limits by foot:
March: 45k run on my 45th birthday
July: 350k fastpacking trip across Denmark within 7 days with my dog Rita and a backpack
September: 80k ultra trail run

I am a believer in rationality, kindness and spiritual minimalism. Conformity, group think, jargon etc. makes me wanna run away. So I run a lot!
