Goal
Will I be able to raise 40 hundreds for my 40th birthday?
Perhaps Yes with your help!
I've selected 4 projects that focus on extreme poverty and global health (Against Malaria Foundation, Helen Keller International, New Incentives, and StrongMinds). I really hope to see huge improvements within the next decade and to able to be of any help!
I want to focus on these projects because I can rarely have a direct impact in these causes compared to others that are more connected to my daily life (such as being vegan and sharing info on animal welfare and health benefits, and being able to support social data-driven projects and speak about AI's risks and regulations since I work in tech).
There are so many great causes to focus on, and each of us can do our part to make the world a better place and help each other to access health support and equal opportunities.
If I reach my fundraising goal, I will probably donate my hair too.
Stefania Delprete manages the Italian chapter of Effective Altruism, a field of research and community aimed to find effective ways to improve the world through careers, donations and projects. She studied physics in Italy and then worked in IT in the UK and Germany. In recent years, she has been involved in Python and data science projects and teaching (of which she supports local and national groups).
