Jeff Kaufman

Jeff Kaufman joined Giving What We Can in 2012, and has focused on global poverty and biological risks. He joined Google in 2012 to earn money to donate which allowed him to, along with his wife Julia Wise, donate over $2M. In summer 2022 he switched careers to join the Nucleic Acid Observatory, working to reduce risk from future pandemics. He has also co-organized the Boston Effective Altruism meetup since 2011, one of the longest running EA meetups. He's written extensively about effective altruism, parenting, traditional music, and other things at jefftk.com.
