I'm almost 25, and as this milestone approaches, I find myself feeling something I don't take lightly: lucky. Lucky for the life I have, the people around me, and the opportunities I've been given.
That feeling is exactly why, instead of gifts this year, I'm asking for something more meaningful. I want to take a little of that luck and pass it forward. Effective altruism is about making sure our care for the world actually reaches the people and places that need it most and that feels like the perfect way to celebrate.
