Instead of a traditional wedding registry, we are asking our guests to help us give a gift of our own — to families who need it most.
Each year, over 600,000 people die from malaria, and three-quarters of them are children under five. The Against Malaria Foundation fights this disease by distributing insecticide-treated bed nets to families at risk — a simple intervention with extraordinary impact. Protecting two people costs just $6, and according to the charity evaluator GiveWell, roughly $5,500 worth of nets is enough to save a life.
If you're able to contribute, we'd be so grateful. And if you'd simply like to send your love and well-wishes for our future together, that means just as much to us.

Laura is a researcher at Rethink Priorities, and Alex works at a think tank in DC.

Bednets To Prevent Malaria
AMF's bed net programs protect people from malaria by distributing and ensuring the use of long-lasting insecticidal bednets in regions with the highest burden of malaria cases.
