Frequently Asked Question

What if I want to give more than 10% of my income?

Answer

If you want to give more than 10% of your income, that's great! We’ve chosen 10% as a nice balance of significant and achievable for most people, but many of our members choose to give more than the minimum they commit to. There are no rules or requirements about how much more you can give, and you can also give less in some years knowing that you’ll donate more in others.

Some members even choose to formalise a bigger commitment by taking The Further Pledge to give all of their income above a fixed living allowance.

For those who have significant wealth, we encourage you to pledge the greater of 10% of income or a percentage of wealth (suggested at 2.5%).
