Lead Exposure Elimination Project

Lead Exposure Elimination Project

Lead Exposure Elimination Project (LEEP) drives effective policies to eliminate lead poisoning across the globe. Its current focus is on ending the sale and manufacture of lead paint worldwide.

This charity meets the requirements to be supported by Giving What We Can as an unlisted charity — read more about our inclusion criteria.

LEEP drives effective policies to eliminate lead poisoning across the globe in order to achieve its mission to eliminate childhood lead poisoning and improve the health, wellbeing, and potential of children worldwide. It does this by:

  • Conducting paint studies to obtain country-specific data.
  • Supporting governments in implementing lead paint regulations.
  • Providing technical assistance to help paint manufacturers switch to lead-free alternatives.

LEEP is a partner of the Global Alliance to Eliminate Lead Paint, was incubated by Charity Entrepreneurship, is supported by Schmidt Futures, and is one of two organisations that Rethink Priorities recommended in its 2021 report for those who want to fund direct lead exposure work.
