Joining UsIf you are thinking of joining Giving What We Can, then you have our warm welcome. There is one major responsibility involved in joining: you must take our Pledge to Give. That is, you must make a lifelong commitment to give at least 10% of your income to where you think it will do most to eliminate poverty. This is a serious undertaking, and it will probably shape your life in some way. It is not to be undertaken lightly, but if you think it is the right thing to do and want to commit yourself to a future in which you play a part in eliminating the worst suffering from this world, then we whole-heartedly welcome you on board. If you're not ready for that, then there are other ways to get involved too. You could help spread the word about Giving What We Can or look at other similar programs. You can also make full use of our resources here: our information on the strengths and weaknesses of different aid organizations, our list of essays on giving, our list of reports on poverty, and our news regarding international aid. Hopefully we can still be of considerable service. If you decide to join us, then fill out your details below. We will email you further information about joining and post you a membership form containing the list of shared beliefs and our pledge. When you sign and return the form, you will be an official member. Not ready to commit to giving 10% yet? You might consider trying out giving for a shorter duration and/or a lower percentage. Or you could have a look at our Give More Tomorrow pledge. If you wish to contact us about any other matters, then visit our contact page. |
