Giving What We Can
We are currently hoping to expand our membership, especially to include more undergraduates. Moreover, we strongly hope to expand our chapter to become Giving What We Can: San Diego, which would include SDSU, USD, and other local universities and colleges. Our plan for the near future includes:
- Peter Singer on Effective Altruism. When? February 25th, 2014, from 6:30pm to 7:50pm. Where? UCSD in H&SS 1330. What? We will view Peter Singer's recent TED Talk "The why and how of effective altruism", and ask him questions live over Skype. If you would like to ask Singer a question during the event, please contact Theron Pummer at email@example.com by February 15th. The event is free and open to the public, and there is a first-come, first-seated policy.
- Mike Middleton's Photography & Poverty talk. To be scheduled for April or May 2014. (More details coming soon!)
