Giving What We Can

Giving What We Can: Rutgers Talks

If you'd like Giving What We Can: Rutgers to come and give a talk at your club or a club you know, please let us know. Here is an overview of talks that we can give:

Helping Effectively An overview of facts about charitable giving and how giving to the best charities can have 10,000 times the positive impact.
Ethical Careers One might think working for a non-profit organization is the most ethical thing one can do, but there are excellent reasons to think that there are options that are no less than 100 times as good - if one's goal is to help peolpe as much as possible.
Giving Without Sacrifice Giving charitably could seem like a trade-off between happiness for self and others. Overwhelming evidence from psychology suggests that it is not a trade-off but a win-win instead: giving charitably increases happiness for everyone.

We have given talks at: NJ PIRG, National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), Atheist Student Alliance (ASA), Rutgers University Secular Humanists (RUSH), have been invited to RU Oxfam, RU Unicef, and have been invited back to these clubs for Fall 2012.
