Giving What We Can

I am a second year undergrad studying physics at St John's. I first heard of GWWC at fresher's fair and it soon became clear that everyone in it had exactly the same mindset as me when it came to giving and giving effectively. I was stunned by how money that I could do without could make such a huge difference to the lives of so many people if given to the right causes. I try to give away more than 10% of my student income and hope to give away more when I earn more.

I'm a fourth year maths and philosopher at LMH with experience in programming and finance. I've been involved with Giving What We Can for years; most recently, helping run the GWWC September internship. I find all the areas Giving What We Can deals with interesting; from the philosophy behind it, through the technical methodological issues and the practicalities of coordinating a global movement, to the personal issues of promoting your values.

We'll be looking to add a few more members to our team this term, so if you're interested, or would like to get involved more generally, just send me an email: we can always use more people!

Events Manager

I'm Giving What We Can Oxford's Event Manager. This means I'm in charge of organising venues for our events. I am also in charge of socials and more informal gatherings. I'm in my fourth year, doing Mathematics and Philosophy at St Hugh's.
